"We stayed at the “Amelia” apartment in Funchal in December 2009 to include the New Years celebrations there. The apartment facilities were the best we have encountered.
It was spacious, modern and well equipped, but most importantly spotlessly clean.
The location was within close proximity to various restaurants, bars and shops, yet it was quiet and private at all times. We would recommend this apartment to anyone who enjoys eating out or in, as it gives a feeling of "home from home" due to being so well equipped. We booked a Taxi to and from the airport which made our arrival and departure quick and hassle free. The service from the agent, caretaker and taxi service were exemplary and we were made to feel welcome immediately, which is typical of Madeira generally.

"Our holiday was the best yet in Madeira. We had a wonderful time. The Fireworks were spectacular. The views from the apartment over the harbour and the cruise ships were beautiful. The apartment was lovely and clean and very well equipped. We felt at home straight away.
We walked everywhere to keep fit, by the end of the week, the uphill walk to the apartment didn't feel half so bad.

We did two Levada walks and went on the cable cars. Sorry about the keys. We would recommend you in an instance, although I do not think we will be going back to Madeira for a while, as we have just bought a holiday home in Clearwater, Tampa, Florida, because it was going for a song. We may eventually buy a retirment home for long stays in Madeira, but if we ever need another apartment there, we would definitely see if yours was available.
